How to Make the Most of a Heat Wave

When temperatures exceed 90°F, demand for pool access skyrockets. In select markets, ResortPass will launch flash marketing campaigns to push people to the pool during those extra hot days. Learn how to take advantage of these high-demand periods to earn the most day guest revenue.

What to do when a heat wave hits:

Increase your pool inventory

In the Calendar in the Partner Portal, add day passes, pool seating, and any available cabanas to ResortPass. They are likely to sell.

Monitor and adjust inventory daily

Check for overnight guest cancellations each morning during the heat wave period and immediately convert that capacity to day pass availability. 

 

Take these steps now to prepare in advance for the next heat wave:

 

Make sure you can accept same-day bookings

Open up same-day inventory to capture spikes in demand. Heat-driven bookings are often impulsive decisions made when people are just too hot!

Optimize your listing

Make sure your ResortPass listing highlights:

  • Pool amenities and shade options
  • Air-conditioned facilities
  • Any special heat wave offerings (frozen drinks, cooling towels, etc.)
